Box Office: ‘Angrezi Medium’ has poor opening in India

Irrfan Khan’s much talked about latest release ‘Angrezi Medium’ has opened up to a poor response in India, according to data from Box Office India.

The film, which also stars Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, managed to rake in 8-10% business in morning trade. The film’s opening has been dented by the ongoing cinemas closures owing to the coronavirus outbreak. It is said around 45 cinemas in Delhi are not playing the film.

The Punjabi release ‘Chal Mera Putt 2’ opened up to a decent response, much better than ‘Angrezi Medium’. The Amrinder Gill starrer is expected to do well at the ticket window this weekend. The original ‘Chal Mera Putt’ did better in international territories than in India.
