Akshay Kumar recently announced the release date of his next ‘Padman’, which has been booked for a India Republic Day release in 2018, which means it would’ve clashed directly with the super ambitious project ‘2.0’ starring himself and Rajinikanth. However, ‘Padman’ has now been postponed to an April 2018 release.

Bollywood Life has reported that ‘2.0’ will now be hitting cinemas in on 13th April 2018, which is also Tamil New Year so it will avoid clashing with ‘Padman’.

Kumar synonymous with Republic Day releases, which in the past included ‘Baby’ in 2015 and ‘Airlift’ last year.

‘Padman’ is directed by R Balki and marks the debut of Twinkle Khanna as producer.
