Box Office: ‘Akira’ gets off to a poor start

This weekend’s much talked about release ‘Akira’ starring Sonakshi Sinha has got off to a poor start at the India box office.

The action film with Sinha as the female lead, pulled in just 15% collections in morning shows. With not much backing from a hit soundtrack, the film is wholly dependent on the theatrical trailer, which was unveiled a couple of months ago. Box Office India reports, it will be interesting to see how the film develops on word of mouth.

Other smaller films also were released today but did not generate as much business. This will work in favour of ‘Akira’.
