Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar’s ‘2 States’ has crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark in the domestic market, after four weeks of release.

The Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starer family entertainer held its position strong at the box office in its third week despite stiff competition from Hollywood releases. It maintained the pace in the fourth running week. With such terrific response garnered for the love story adapted from Chetan Bhagat۪s famed novel of the same name, the filmmakers are extremely happy with the response.

‘2 States’ is the only second film of this year so far to join the Rs. 100 crore club after ‘Jai Ho’ (2014). The Salman Khan movie’s lifetime business in the domestic market stood at Rs. 116 crore. It remains to be seen if ‘2 States’ will beat the collections of ‘Jai Ho’.

Nadiadwala said, Firstly Highway had such a tremendous response. The critics and the audience appreciated it. And now with 2 States, I am very emotional right now. I am happy that the entire nation has loved the film.۝

Looks like, 2014 is truly the year of Sajid Nadiadwala. The filmmaker is all geared up to launch Jackie Shroff۪s son, Tiger shroff in ‘Heropanti’ that hits the marquee on 23rd May 2014. Post which, his first directorial venture and the most awaited film of the year, ‘Kick’ will be releasing on Eid.
