Boney Kapoor: “Janhvi has her own individuality”

At the Yash Chopra Memorial Award announcement event, Boney Kapoor who attended, spoke about his daughter Janhvi Kapoor and on making her debut in Bollywood.

Reported on The Indian Express, the proud father stated that Kapoor will not be trying to be like her mum Sridevi, instead she is carving out her own style in Bollywood. “Janhvi has her own individuality. Fortunately, she is not trying to be (like) her mum. She is trying to be herself which is good. She (Sridevi) has been an iconic figure so more so being her daughter why should Janhvi ape her.”

The film producer further added, “If she has to make a mark she should be her own individual self and do things that create your own identity. She is sensible and intelligent girl. She is hardworking, sincere towards her work and she will create a niche for herself.”

Kapoor who will be making her debut in Karan Johar and Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’, will see her opposite Ishaan Khattar in the film. The ‘Mom’ (2017) producer had a chance to see his daughter in action on set and says he’s happy with the way ‘Dhadak’ was shaping up. “I was in Udaipur for a day and it’s going pretty well. She was filming a song and it looked fantastic. I have also seen the stills and pictures. They look good.”

On a side note, Kapoor was quizzed about the sequel to ‘No Entry’ (2005), and whether there was a possibility that Salman Khan will return for the second instalment, to which he replied, “I know it (sequel) has been announced for a long time. I don’t want to comment on the star cast. All I can say is that the film will be made sooner than later.”

The original film also starred Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan in lead roles and was helmed by Anees Bazmee. With similar sentiments, Bazmee has also expressed that it would be “Good,” if the ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017) actor comes back for the sequel, but if he decides not to, then they will have to find someone else.
