Boney, Janhvi & Khushi to pick up Sridevi’s National Award

Boney Kapoor and daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, will together collect the posthumous national award for Sridevi for her portrayal in ‘Mom’ (2017).

This will be Boney’s first public appearance since Sridevi’s death in February. The Asian Age reports that Boney is actually rather reluctant to even attend his niece Sonam Kapoor’s wedding next week and will only be present for the mandatory rituals.

A source told the publication, “The wounds are still very raw. Sri has been gone for less than two months, and Boney cries at the very mention of her name. Given a chance, he would have just avoided any mention of her, but the national award is big and a historic chapter in Sridevi’s glorious career. Boney’s daughters Janhvi and Khushi have convinced their father to accompany them to Delhi.”

The event takes place on Thursday.
