Bombay High Court questions Sanjay Dutt’s parole during jail sentence

The Bombay High Court is questioning Sanjay Dutt’s frequent parole requests during his five-year prison sentence in 1993 Mumbai blast case. The Maharashtra government says that they can account for every minute of Dutt’s parole.

As according to Hindustan Times, Maharashtra advocate general Ashutosh Kumbhakoni said, “Not even for a single minute or second was Dutt out of jail in breach of law. We can account for every single minute that he was permitted to stay out of jail. We follow a strict, standard procedure for granting people parole for every inmate. In times of RTI queries and public interest litigations, we take no chance.”

Dutt was last seen in ‘Bhoomi’ (2017).
