With the youth of today being exposed to so much of what mainstream society has to offer, The Children’s Film Society of India have decided to launch the very first National Children’s Film Festival, to promote films targeted at young people.

To be launched on Children’s Day on 14th November, many famous names from the Indian Film Industry have come forward in support of the prestigious event. According to Times of Indiathe likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn have made a video to promote the festival, which will be screened on the day

Talking about the decision of having a festival for children targeted films,Shravan Kumar, CEO, CFSI, expressed, “We’re committed to generate quality content for children to increase viewership and it’s heartening to see the participation from Bollywood. If the mainstream industry can join hands to push children’s content, it gives us a better impetus to reach out.”

With Indian tennis player Saina Mirza and Jimmy Shergil attending as honorary guests at the event, Bollywood choreographer Shiamak Davar will put in a performance along with his team whilst directors Subash Ghai and Satish Kaushik will take part in leading different activities for children around Mumbai.

With the Industry going all out for such a prestigious event to promote film to the younger generation, here’s hoping other film industry’s can follow suit and turn it into an international affair.
