Tell us about your character in Talaash۪.

I would not like to talk about my character only because it is a thriller and I would really like the audience and everybody to discover the film as they watch it. Anything I might say may seem like they can lose interest. Everything adds up to the thriller experience so even talking about the character may lose that impact from when they actually watch the movie.

What was it like working in Talaash۪ which is a thriller?

It is my first so there was a lot of excitement. I haven۪t been part of a thriller film before. It is a first for Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor as well. It is a very interesting film with some interesting characters and all the characters have been bought together in an emotional way. It is about human relationships so it has a special tone of emotion with the thriller infused in it. It is a very warm thriller, not a cold thriller.

What was like working with Reema Kagti as a director?

Reema Kagti is my first female director and she absolutely hates it when I say that and I do understand why. Directors don۪t come with a gender, a director is a director irrespective of the gender that they are, even if they are a good director or a bad director. With Reema I can say that she is a good director, I had an amazing time working with her in the movie. She is a director who commands a lot of respect in terms of her knowledge of what she knows, in terms of the characters and how to turn those actors into the characters. It is amazing to watch a director like that.

Did you work with Reema Kagti on your character in the film?

When Reema came to me with the film, it was pretty much about script. We did speak about my character and we tried to improvise and make my character better. I think that is a normal process in every film. The actor has to have a certain understanding about what they feel about the character.

What was it like working with Aamir Khan again?

Aamir is my friend so it is very different feeling working with him in this film. When I worked with him the first time, I was 17, I was a newcomer and I didn۪t know much. He was huge star then and he is a much bigger star now. The only thing that has changed is that he is my friend today and there is different feeling where I have worked for 17 years and he is working with somebody who has the 17 year experience. He has seen a lot more change in me than I have seen in him. He is the same, he is as focussed and as dedicated as he ever has been.

It was rumoured that you don۪tinteract with Kareena Kapoor in the film but in the song Muskaan Jhooti Hai, we see you share the screen space. What was it like working in a film where you don۪t have much interaction with your co-actress?

It was fine as every script with its own storyline and the storyline of Talaash۪ is different where our characters don۪t need to meet each other in film so that۪s okay.

What projects do we expect to see you in in the future?

Right now, I don۪t have any films on hand which I have decided to. I haven۪t felt very happy with the kind of offers I have got. As soon as I have a good role or script comes my way, I will definitely do it.

Do you have a final word for your British audience?

I love my fans in the UK and they have consistently given me a lot of love and blessing and I would want them to shower their love on me all the time. I will constantly continue doing better work with each of my films so I can better entertain them.

We wish Rani Mukerji and the rest of the cast of Talaash۪ the best of luck for the film. The hard work and dedication put into the film is clear to see and we at BizAsia are looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.
