BizAsia talks to Jacqueline Fernandez about Kick۪

Jacqueline Fernandez has not been in the Bollywood industry for very long but she definitely has made her mark with her roles in Aladdin۪ (2009) and more recently as Omisha in Race 2۪ (2013). She has proved her worth with her sultry dance moves and is set to hit the screen with Salman Khan this week with her next film Kick۪. BizAsia caught up with the actress before the release to find out more about her upcoming release and to hear more about how she felt about starring opposite Khan.

Jacqueline Fernandez - Kick
BizAsia talks to Jacqueline Fernandez

Tell me about your character in Kick۪.

I play this girl called Shaina and she is your simple normal girl, really studious girl from Delhi. She leads a very normal life until one day a pretty insane crazy guy comes into her life and changes everything so that pretty much what starts it all.

What made you choose to do this film?

If you were offered a film with Salman Khan, would you think about it? (laughs) Would you even give it a second thought?

What was it like working with Salman Khan on the sets of Kick۪?

He is an extremely professional person. He comes on sets and he is pretty much no nonsense. He has so much dedication and focus with every scene which I think is amazing. It was a fantastic experience just working with him.

Did you ever have a moment on set where you thought I am working with Salman Khan?

Every single second, every single second. It was insane.

What was your most memorable moment working on the sets of Kick۪?

I don۪t know. Maybe when we were in Poland, we had so much fun there because we would take a little bit of time off after we shot some amazing stuff which we were really happy with. During our time off, we went to museums and art shows and to old town in Warsaw and the whole team and Salman were so much fun to be around so I made some really cool memories.

What was it like working with Sajid Nadiadwala?

He is so amazing as a director, such a sweet calm person and the most amazing part was that he could direct me for who I was and had a real knack for explaining things to me. He made my job so easy.

Your image has changed a lot from your look in Aladdin۪ to Murder 2۪ and now in Kick۪. Was the change in image a conscious decision of yours?

I don۪t think there was one. I just wanted to be a part of good films with good actors and good directors. I didn۪t want to settle for anything less and that was pretty much it.

Salman Khan is singing in Kick۪. Would you ever consider singing in an upcoming film of yours?

I would do it. I would probably have to hear my voice first, otherwise I would drop the idea completely if I didn۪t like it. If it۪s required and would add to the film then I would do it.

Your fans were incredibly excited on Twitter when we told them we were interviewing you. Do you have a few words for them?

I love my fans on Twitter, they are so loving, cute and supportive and they make my day every day when I read my tweets in the morning. I want to dedicate this interview to them.

BizAsia wishes Jacqueline Fernandez and the team of Kick۪ all the best for their upcoming release. Kick۪ releases nationwide on Friday 25th July.
