3rd March marks the birthday of the light eyed beauty Shraddha Kapoor. In a short space of time this young actress has done some incredible work and at the same time has also worked with some of the best looking men in the industry.
BizAsia will look at her pairing with five actors she has worked with recently.
Aditya Roy Kapur in Aashiqui 2۪ (2013)
A successful artist who has everything but peace of mind meets an aspiring singer. When they meet for the first time they don۪t understand that they are meant to be together. It is only when Rahul (Aditya Roy Kaur) sees Arohi (Shraddha Kapoor) performing at a bar that he realises she has talent and the potential to become a great singer, perhaps even better than him.
Rahul makes it his mission in life to make Arohi a famous singer. With time their relationship changes from student and mentor to companions. The success of the film was not solely due to the popularity of the music but also due to the amazing chemistry between the two actors.
The Bollywood couple will be coming together again in Dharma Productions’ ‘OK Jaanu’, which is scheduled for a release next year.
Shahid Kapoor in Haider۪ (2014)
‘Haider’ was the first time that Kapoor had worked opposite Shahid Kapoor and what a film it was. The film was considered a masterpiece after all it was based on William Shakespeare۪s play Hamlet۪. The actress played the role of a Kashmiri journalist as well as the love interest of Haider.
Haider۪s madness was balanced by the innocence and purity of his love for Arshia (Kapoor). Arshia۪s love for Haider was so strong that she would go at any length to help him. The scenes between the two actors displayed love and affection and very convincingly at that. It was a passionate love affair and both Kapoor۪s did a superb job.
Sidharth Malhotra in Ek Villain۪ (2014)
This romantic thriller managed to do its magic at the box office and gained popularity with its heartfelt music and fascinating characters.
Ayesha (Kapoor) is playful and childlike while Guru (Sidharth Malhotra) is a serious man who keeps to himself. When circumstances keep bringing them together again and again, Guru۪s heart begins to soften up and eventually falls for the girl. Guru and Ayesha loved each other so much that they would do anything and everything for one another. Love was all that they needed and Kapoor and Malhotra convinced us of this. Their pairing was a success and the audiences also felt this.
Emraan Hashmi in Ungli۪ (2014)
Kapoor made a special appearance as Basanti in the item number Dance Basanti۪. It was a popular party track of 2014 and saw Kapoor dance with the likes of Emraan Hashmi. The song was set in a busy nightclub and saw Kapoor looking gorgeous in various outfits.
Their chemistry was so sizzling, that with Hashmi۪s charm and Kapoor۪s enchantment, it would be quite interesting to see these two working together in another project.
Varun Dhawan in ABCD 2۪ (2015)
Kapoor played the role of a dedicated dancer named Vinnie, who has a soft corner for fellow dancer Suru played by Varun Dhawan. Their chemistry reminded one of friendship as they fight over small, silly things and then make up very quickly.
Their love could also be described as childlike because they both love each other but don۪t admit it. However when Vinnie sees that Suru is getting closer to another girl, the love that she had been hiding slowly begins to show itself.
Dhawan and Kapoor were praised for their dancing skills and not only that audiences liked them as a romantic jodi.
BizAsia wishes Shraddha Kapoor a happy 27th birthday and we wish her all the best for her upcoming projects.
