ZEE to launch two new channels
ZEE Network has confirmed to Biz Asia that it is launching two new channels in the UK market by March next year. One will see the launch within the next three months and the other could be launching early next year. According to rumours, one will be a ZEE channel from India and the other a non-ZEE channel, an arrangement similar to that of South Asia World (the channel is owned by TV18 and distributed internationally by ZEE Network).

Rival STAR is desperately seeking carriage on Sky Digital to launch its two new channels STAR One and STAR Gold. According to a reliable source, the channels could launch within the next two months.

New Asian adult channel on the horizon
MATV owners are looking at launching what could be the UK’s first Asian adult channel called ‘Kama Sutra’. MATV has refused to comment on the new channel but a license by Ofcom has already been approved.
