Biz Asia Industry Whispers

Issue 12

Unlike India where the print media is inherently powerful and cut-throat, in the UK entertainment media, television & radio continue to rule the roost where films and music are concerned.

Several ethnic newspapers are barely surviving, and needless to add, the quality of content in most of them, given their weekly status, is stale and rehashed.

A recent newspaper floated by a powerful filmmaker in the UK began on an ambitious note but fizzled out while the so-called market leaders in print are also suffering from dipping readership with one of them turning desperate to resort to sensationalism in any form in a desperate bid to retain patrons!
