Birthday Love: Ranbir Kapoor & his five leading ladies

Ranbir Kapoor is one name everyone wants to work with. With an increasingly growing career, there doesn’t seem to be anything he can’t do. With a wide range of roles, the actor’s success has been shared with the many actresses he has worked with.

Turning 38 on 28th September, BizAsiaLive.com looks at five of Kapoor’s leading ladies he has already who he has shared a great on-screen chemistry with.

‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013) – Deepika Padukone
Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ became an instant hit as soon as it hit the big-screens. The curiosity with the audience first came, as this was the first film Kapoor and Padukone did together after their public break-up a few years before. However, throughout the film the pair were electrifying and an absolute joy to watch. It was evident that both were very comfortable and worked extremely well together, where they made their viewers smile, cry, and have their hearts be filled with romance in all the right places. Having then went onto share the screen again in ‘Tamasha’ (2015), only added to Kapoor and Padukone being an on-screen favourite.

‘Barfi’ (2012) – Priyanka Chopra Jonas
One of the most unconventional roles for both Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, ‘Barfi’ made the viewers look at both actors very differently. Though the graceful Ileana De Cruz was also good to watch, it was Kapoor and Chopra Jonas’ roles as Barfi and Jhilmil that the audience lit up when watching. Both pushing the boundaries of their acting talent, Kapoor and Chopra Jonas amazed their audiences beyond their expectations.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ (2017) – Katrina Kaif
Despite having parted ways in their personal life when Kapoor and Katrina Kaif started shooting for ‘Jagga Jasoos’, as the professional actors that they are, it was very evident they didn’t let this hinder their performance. Though the film didn’t hit the mark with critics, audiences love the trials and tribulations their characters Jagga and Shruthi found themselves in. Bouncing off each other energy Kapoor and Kaif shared a great balance of skill in completely becoming their characters, engrossing their audiences in their story.

‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016) – Anushka Sharma
Despite having worked together the year before in ‘Bombay Velvet’ (2015), it was ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ that excited the audiences with Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The film had many mixed reviews, but all celebrated how Sharma and Kapoor came together and created fireworks on-screen. Though their relationship first depicts unrequited love, audience members can’t help but still fantasize about having a relationship like the one Ayan and Alizeh share. They were both electrifying and made it evident they very much enjoyed working together.

‘Wake up Sid’ (2009) – Konkona Sen Sharma
Though ‘Wake Up Sid’ came rather early on in his career, this was the film proved Kapoor had the potential to do great things. His role as Siddharth AKA Sid was an enjoyable watch where his character development came through the help and support of Aisha played by Konkona Sen Sharma. Kapoor and Sen Sharma were wonderful together, giving wonderful and heart-warming performances. As the film went on, the audiences vouched for their characters to get together, enjoying their chemistry throughout the film. With Sen Sharma having been in the business a little longer than Kapoor, just like her character in the film, it seems she became a great mentor for the actor, where many anticipate another film with both sharing the screen once again.

BizAsiaLive.com would like to wish Ranbir Kapoor a very Happy Birthday.
