Hrithik Roshan is a versatile actor, there is no doubt about this but one thing which stands about him are his super dancing feet. He has the capacity to rule the dance floor with such ease and makes his moves look effortless. Ek Pal Ka Jeena from Kaho Naa_ Pyaar Hai۪ (2000)
Though Kaho Naa..Pyaar Hai۪ was Roshan۪s debut film, this dance number made it clear that he was here to stay. The audiences can vividly remember Ek Pal Ka Jeena and it was down to Roshan۪s smooth dance moves that the song is still remembered to this day. In the film, Roshan played an aspiring singer Rohit who falls in love with a rich girl Sonia (Ameesha Patel), much to the disgust of her family. This film was an incredible debut for Roshan and he went on to become the only actor to win the Filmfare for Best Debut and the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the same film.
Main Aisa Kyon Hoon from Lakshya۪ (2004)
Main Aisa Kyon Hoon was one dance number which audiences loved purely down to the fantastic dance moves shown by Roshan. Dressed in all white, he danced with backing dancers dressed in black and emulated moves which looked like they were out of this world. The song was choreographed by Prabdu Deva who is known for his fantastic dance moves and who better to show them off on the big screen than Roshan. In the film, Roshan played Capt. Karan Sheergill, a young man who doesn۪t really have a purpose in life and ends up joining the Indian Military Academy.
Dhoom again from Dhoom 2۪ (2006)
Dhoom again is a celebratory dance at the end of the film which made the audience sit up and take notice. By the time Dhoom 2۪ released, it was clear the Roshan has the capacity to take on the most complicated dances and make them his own. For this song, Roshan does street style accompanied by Aishwarya Rai who was well matched to Roshan۪s fast steps and quick turns. In Dhoom 2۪, Roshan played Mr A, a mysterious thief who is famous for stealing priceless jewels. He was sexy and smooth on screen as the criminal and his dance moves were very much a part of his character on screen.
Senorita from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara۪ (2011)
Senorita is such a fitting song in this film and though it was not all about Roshan, it was one which really showed his versatility as an actor and a dancer. The song is picturised in Spain and also features Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar. Senorita shows Roshan showing off his Spanish moves and it is a very playful and upbeat song. It is a joy to watch on screen and really lifts the tone of the whole film. In the film, Roshan played Arjun, a workaholic who is compelled to go on a road trip with his old best friends Kabir (Deol) and Imraan (Akhtar) as a bachelor۪s last send off for Kabir. The film was a great watch and gained critical acclaim.
Bang Bang from Bang Bang!۪ (2014)
Bang Bang is one song where the audience ends up watching Roshan rather than Katrina Kaif accompanying him. Roshan has definitely reached the pinnacle when it comes to dancing in Bollywood films and this song just shows with how much ease he can carry it off. The song is a great dance number and Roshan makes it look smooth and sexy all at the same time. His tribute to Michael Jackson is done with finesse and it looks seamless with the rest of the song. In Bang Bang!۪, Roshan played Rajveer, an Indian thief who loves to steal the impossible and this time chooses to steal the Kohinoor.
We wish Hrithik Roshan a very Happy Birthday for 2016 and a very successful coming year in Bollywood!
