Birthday love: Five loopworthy love songs featuring Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan has not had a genre which people could say he is typecast in as he’s acted in so many different types of films. As such, we can argue that he makes a very cute loverboy.

As Dhawan turns a year older, BizAsiaLive.com outlines five of the love songs which we associate with him which make him such a good romantic hero.

Humsafar from ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ (2017)
This is one song from the ‘BKD’ album which has won many an accolade and awards. Akhil Sachdeva’s lyrics, music and his voice quite literally make it the perfect love song of modern-day love stories. Dhawan is paired with Alia Bhatt in the song and their pairing has always proven popular right from their debut together.

Jeena Jeena from ‘Badlapur’ (2015)
With Atif Aslam’s vocals and Dhawan’s rugged look in most of ‘Badlapur’, Jeena Jeena is somewhat a ballad and it’s placed in a film that it may not otherwise have been associated with. It’s a soothing and melodious song which immediately tugs at the heartstrings.

Chaav Laga from ‘Sui Dhaaga – Made in India’ (2018)
With this film being his first outing with Anushka Sharma, Dhawan was instantly likeable in his role as Mauji and the audience on his side for the most part if not the entire story. Chaav Laga, with Papon and Ronkini Gupta, is a song where the viewers get to see the relationship developing between Mauji and Mamta (Sharma). It’s a sweet song, totally fit for this small town plot.

Ishq Wala Love from ‘Student of the Year’ (2012)
This is the actor’s original love song, as it’s his debut film, but he shares this with Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. It was a hit among the audiences when the film released, ticking the box for the slow romantic number which brings to the forefront the love triangle. Shekhar Ravjiani, Salim Merchant and Neeti Mohan provide the melody with great voices and it is still popular eight years since the film’s release.

Title track from ‘Kalank’ (2019)
Although this multi-starrer didn’t fare too well with the audiences or at the box office, it certainly made a mark with its soundtrack and this title song had many people going gaga over it. It’s an Arijit Singh track which leaves deep impact because of its old-school charm and it’s dramatic melody.

BizAsiaLive.com wishes Varun Dhawan a very happy birthday.
