Deepika Padukone has become one of the most sought after actresses and, after the release of ’83’ last month, has a decent few films in her kitty at the moment.
As she marks her birthday today, BizAsia is going through why we should be excited for those projects.
‘Gehraiyaan’
Padukone next release is due to be ‘Gehraiyaan’, directed by Shakun Batra. The film’s first glimpses were released a few weeks ago and promised a nuanced movie which would be very fresh for Padukone to be seen in. She’s sharing the screen with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday and it is definitely one to be excited about. It’s due for release on Amazon Prime Video later this month.
‘Cirkus’
Padukone is due to do a cameo in hubby Ranveer Singh’s ‘Cirkus’ which will incidentally see her reuniting with Rohit Shetty too. Not much is known about her appearance in the film but no doubt it will be interesting to see her come in for a short time.
‘Pathan’
Perhaps one of the most awaited movies of Padukone’s is ‘Pathan’, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. It is directed by Siddharth Anand and will apparently see the actress in some high octane action sequences. It will be fantastic for the audiences to see her reunite with both actors.
‘Project K’
This is definitely one of the big ticket films of this list and will see Padukone sharing the screen with Prabhas. The film is also due to star Amitabh Bachchan and is helmed by Nag Ashwin Reddy. Padukone has been shooting for this project recently and has shared some of the on set food delicacies.
‘Fighter’
Finally, Padukone is due to come together with Hrithik Roshan for the first time in this Siddharth Anand directorial. The two actors have been in talks for previous films before but they didn’t work out. This one is the film most are excited about the most.
