Birmingham man takes part in BBC3 fitness show

A Birmingham man has taken part in a reality show which saw him compete against pensioners triple his age.

Finance worker Waqar Ali, thought he was young and fit until he met his match against a group of pensioners in Utah, USA.

The 23-year-old had a rude awakening when he offered to go on BBC3 show ‘Are You Fitter Than A Pensioner?’

The show’s aim was to compare young unfit adults from the UK to old retired fit pensioners.

Waqar told BizAsia.co.uk; “It was a good experience for me, I’ve now stopped smoking and go to the gym regularly and cycle quite a lot, its inspired me to keep fit and eat healthy.

“It was a great experience, I met alot of amazing people. I was shocked to see how fit old people really are. I will definitely visit America again.”

Waqar will be featured in the episode of Thursday 14th October at 8pm on BBC3.
