Bipasha Basu in ‘Shaukeen’ remake

Another day and news of another remake. TV actor turned Bollywood director, Rohit Roy is all set to direct the remake of the 1982 hit ‘Shaukeen’.

Bipasha Basu has been signed on to play the role Rati Agnihotri played in the original. 43-year-old Rohit Roy announced the news on Twitter, tweeting, “Bipasha loved the script and has agreed to do the film… But can’t confirm when we go on floors as the casting is still in progress”.

‘Shaukeen; is about three lecherous old men, played by Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and A.K. Hangal who try and impress Rati Agnihotri.

Roy previously directed one of the short stories in Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’ (2007) ‘Rice Plate’ which featured Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi.
