Bipasha Basu: “Big films are written for big stars”
After spending gala times with her friends in Goa actress Bipasha Basu is back to promote a biscuit brand in Delhi. The sultry actress looks fit and shredded the extra kilos. In an interview with NDTV, Basu explored her fitness mantra, views on male star dominance in industry and panic attacks.
Talking about big films, she stated, “Bollywood is essentially male-dominated. Big banners, big films are all determined and written for big stars. Also, if an actress gives a hit, then she becomes the one everyone wants to run to. It’s a typical herd mentality
Basu who is always seen promoting the products she believes in has told that the film industry is male driven and big films are written for them only. She told, Apart from the male stars if an actress managed to stand out the hoi polloi chases her.
Basu expressed her grievance over the fact that she has always been called sexy after experimenting a lot with her roles over the years. No one appreciated my acting side if I do that, they only figured out my sexy side. I found very weird starring in Humshakals۪, I don۪t want to do these pitiful and disgraceful roles anymore, she said.
Basu also loves to work in horror films and very keen to produce or directing a film of the same genre in near future.
In today۪s world where actors are barely accepting frustrations and depressions Basu stands tall, One has to decide whether the pressure benefit you. I was also pursuing this ominous period in 2011 but after Raaz 3′ (2012) I got mere confidence to keep my good work up.
