Bin Laden death sweeps news channels

The killing of Osama Bin Laden is continue to lead on most news channels.

The Al-Qaeda leader was killed by US forces and his death was confirmed by President Barrack Obama.

Bin Laden is believed to be the mastermind of the attacks on New York on 11th Septemeber 2001.Sky News, BBC News, CNN, AL Jazeera English and Fox News are providing wall-to-wall coverage of the death while Asian news broadcasters NDTV 24×7, Geo News, Aaj Tak, ARY News and Star News are also continuing in-depth coverage. ZEE Network, Sony Entertainment Television Asia and Star Network (excluding Star News) said they were not running any extra bulletins to what they had scheduled.

Geo News were also first to release exclusive video of what is thought to be the compound where the operation took place. Many broadcasters have been using Geo News’ exclusive footage.

On the Internet, the news is thought to have been leaked throught Twitter first around 03:25 BST, this morning. A Twitter posting by Keith Urbahn, the former chief of staff for Donald Rumsfeld, George W. Bush’s defence secretary said, “So I’m told by a reputable person they have killed Osama Bin Laden. Hot damn.”
