Ram Gopal Varma may have many hit and misses when it comes to his film making. However, when a super-hit becomes a franchise, it tends to turn into a whole other ball game. News has revealed that the film-maker will be making the third instalment to the ‘Sarkar’ (200) franchise with Amitabh Bachchan.

As reported byMumbai Mirror, Bachchan had gone to visit his friend Varma at his new new office base called ‘Company’. When asked about the meeting, Bachchan revealed, “Yes, I did visit Ram Gopal Varma at his new ‘Company’ and among the many things we talked about, one was ‘Sarkar 3’.”

Varma himself later confirmed the news, and revealed a little bit about his plans for the storyline. “I am as excited as a teenager on his first date because I take ‘Sarkar 3’ as an opportunity to redeem, reinvent and redefine myself. Since it’s a 10-year-old-franchise, it’s a lot of work. We are keeping the essence of ‘Sarkar’ intact but are working on updating the issues. Amitji will be styled pertinent to today’s fashion trends,” the film-maker expressed.

He went on to add, “Abhishek’s (Bachchan) character died in the second film, Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan) too won’t be a part of’Sarkar 3′. The film will focus on Sarkar’s life with a completely new set of characters who were not a part of the earlier films.”
