Bhumi Pednekar not hesitant to play older character

Soon to be seen in the forthcoming film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, Bhumi Pednekar recently spoke the media about preparing for the role, where she stated that though it was hard work, she is rather comfortable playing an older character.

“I was never hesitant about how I look on screen. For ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, I was only worried about will we be able to look the part; that was a big challenge for us. We have put in a lot of hard work,” The Asian Age reports the actress stating.

Sharing the screen with Taapsee Pannu, both actresses will be playing Chandro (87) and Prakashi (82), India’s oldest sharpshooters and sportswomen, who started playing the sport when they were in their 50s.

Pednekar went on to say, “I was more nervous that my skin is constantly going to be wrinkled, but my biggest concerns were being convincing in the role and the physical look of the character. Luckily we have achieved both.”

Going from strength to strength with every film she has done, the actress remains grounded and isn’t quite used to the applause she is constantly getting. “I know that I am doing good films and people want to come and watch me as far as I keep entertaining my audience. I feel I am a bankable actor, and I am too shy to accept that actually.”

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is set to release on 25th October.
