Bhumi Pednekar eight-hour travel to vote in elections

Bhumi Pednekar is known to be a socially conscious actress. So, despite being in the middle of her film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’s shoot in Pune, Bhumi ensured she traveled back to Mumbai to cast her vote.

“Bhumi has always voted and she didn’t want to miss out on exercising her power to vote just because she was shooting in Pune. She informed the production team earlier that she would put in all the extra hours to finish shooting everything that was planned with her but she would need to travel back to Mumbai to cast her vote. Immediately after voting, Bhumi returned to Pune to rejoin the team. She basically did a 8 hour to and fro from Pune so that she could vote!” informs a production source.

Pednekar says, “As a proud citizen of India, I would like to exercise my power to vote every single time. Despite being in an intense shoot, I had duly informed my director and production team that I would ensure that I do double shifts to finish all my work on time to rush back to Mumbai and cast my vote. Even though it’s a tiring 8 hour journey to and fro from Pune, it’s all worth it because we all need to do our bit and vote.”
