‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ satellite TV rights sold for Rs. 22 crores?

Mahesh Babu’s superhit political thriller ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ has had its satellite TV rights sold at a record price.

According to DNA India, the TV rights for the film have been bought by a broadcaster for a whopping Rs. 22 crore. However, it was still a little lower compared to the all-time blockbuster ‘Baahubali’.

A source told the publication, “This kind of an amount for a Telugu film is rarely heard of. It is perhaps the highest that any Telugu flick has received till date (leaving aside Baahubali which got Rs 51 crore). Bharat Ane Nenu was also one of the highest openers at the box office. Mahesh Babu’s earlier films right from Businessman to The Real Tiger and Takkari Donga to Nijam have had a great run on Hindi GECs garnering good TRPs.”

Babu is one of the most sought after actors in South India cinema. As well as proving a runaway success at the box office, his films have fared well on television, including dubbed Hindi versions of Hindi movie channels.
