Bhansali Prod. CEO & Karni Sena exchange tweets over ‘Padmavati’

Ranveer-Deepika

The row over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Padmavati’ has continued on Twitter today with exchanges between the CEO of Bhansali Productions and Karni Sena.

It started when Bhansali Productions FC on Twitter alerted Karni Sena that no romantic sequences between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji will feature in the final cut. Sant then added, “We also sent out an ‘official’ press release to all media which a section of these organizations confirmed.”

However, Karni Sena were quick to respond with, “But, if we find any offensive scenes despite all these promises, then we’re surely not going to be silent.”

Sant, not one to bow down to Karni Sena’s demands added, “And if you find the film glorifying Rani #Padmavati as we promise, what will you do to undo all this anguish?”

Furthermore, a statement has been released by Bhansali Productions denying such scenes will feature in ‘Padmavati’. It reads, “Representatives of Bhansali Productions Private Limited, including Ms. Shobha Sant (CEO) and Mr.Chetan Deolekar (Associate Producer) met with the office bearers of all the social organisations under the Shree Rajput Sabha in Jaipur. The misunderstanding they had on the content of the film has been cleared and clarified. We have clearly stated that there is no romantic scene or song or dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji. Shri Giriraj ji Lotwara, President of Shree Rajput Sabha has been extremely helpful in bringing the various Rajput organisations including the Karni Sena, Sangh Shakti, Pratap Foundation, Bhawani Niketan together to clarify this.”
