The Sandwell and Birmingham Mela 2012 with Star Plus as the official media partner was an unprecedented success with a record breaking 125,000 people attending over two days.

Held in Victoria Park, Smethwick, over Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July, the park was packed with performers, stalls, food, sports and funfair.

Organised by Raaj FM – the popular Punjabi radio station, in association with Star Plus as the official media partner, the mela saw some of the biggest names in British Asian music performing- Manny Khaira, Manpreet Sandhu, Mangal Singh, Apna Sangeet, Silinder Pardesi, Heera, Nav Sidhu, followed by Jaz Dhami, Shin from DCS, Foji Gill, Sarbjit Cheema and Navin Kundra.

Yeshpal Sharma, Vice President Star UK & Europe said, “Through a very successful partnership between Star TV and Raaj FM, we have managed to attract an unprecedented crowd in the heart of West Midlands with performances from some of the most well established names in British Asian entertainment artists.”
