Bengali channel ‘NTV’ begins tests on Sky

Bengali entertainment channel NTV has begun test transmissions ahead of its launch on Sky Digital later this month.

The leading Bangla in Bangladesh was previously available on Sky Digital through the Vectone TV service. It ceased broadcasting when the Vectone TV channels went off earlier this year.

As revealed exclusively by BizAsia.co.uk in May, NTV is being given a new lease of life in the UK by broadcaster Channel ‘S’. What remains to be seen is how two rival channels will be packaged together as both specialise in Bangladeshi programming.

NTV will be distributed in the UK by Channel ‘S’ from later this month. Full video and audio tests have already begun of NTV off the Sky EPG.

Tests of NTV can be viewed in the following way:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> System Setup (4)
-> Add Channels (4)
-> Enter the frequency: 12.560(H), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight “Globecast1” service and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> “Globecast1” should be listed and available
