Being real life reporter helped Nawazuddin Siddiqui with role in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’
Having first hand experience in reporting news coverage really came in handy for actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui when he played the role of the same occupation in his forthcoming ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan
“I portray a Pakistani reporter in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. The character helps Salman Khan with his journey,” NDTV reported Siddiqui explains.
Talking about his days as a real reporter, the actor went onto to say, “I reached a saturation point in acting. I wanted to put myself into an uncomfortable zone; I became a reporter for a channel. I covered ‘Lok Sabha’ elections. I did eight to 10 episodes as a reporter.”
Siddiqui went onto reveal a little more bout his character in the film, “It is not a filmy reporter. It is based on real life reporters and it is A Pakistani character, so I have tried to keep as much Urdu words as possible. I’d arch plenty of Pakistani reporters and Indian reporters, whom I knew. We combined them all with the director’s input to create this character.”
This will be the second time Siddiqui and Khan will be seen sharing the screen together after ‘Kick’ (2014). Talking about the film, the actor added, “It has very strong content and a very emotional, positive and interesting story. The best part of the film is that it talks about binding two things, two countries and two hearts. There is so much negativity spreading through the world, so we needs movie like this.”
Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan.
