BCCI expected to issue tender for IPL rights next week

Five months after the BCCI announced that it will be issuing a tender for the new cycle of IPL media rights, it now seems the board will officially roll out the tender process next week.

Denying that it was facing pressure from host broadcaster, Star TV, the board said there were no issues if the tender is released immediately, according to CricBuzz.

The board has hired KPMG as a consultancy firm to overlook the sales of the rights. This year, the acquisition fee is expected to skyrocket. The last cycle’s value stood at Rs. 16,347 crore.
