BCCI allows ZEE’s ICL players back in

The official Indian cricket board – BCCI – has thrown a lifeline to Indian Cricket League (ICL) players but with conditions.

According to various reports, ZEE Network’s ICL team players will be allowed back into the official national team but they will have to end their ties with the ICL.

The BCCI has cleared with the players that they may be included in the national team after one year if they terminate their contracts with the ICL by 31st May 2009.

However, the local players with the ICL can play domestic first-class matches with effect from 1st June but will need to terminate their contracts with the ICL next month.
