For the first time, the BBC will be triplecasting its upcoming Asian Network Live event, which was announced this morning.

The even being held on 25th February, will see Bollywood rapper Badshah, headline Asian Network Live. It is being hosted by Tommy Sandhu.

The change is a part of the BBC’s plan to reposition the Asian Network into a youth station, under the direction of Ben Cooper. It was confirmed today that the event will be triplecast on the Asian Network, Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Asian Network will be covering all of the live build-up from 18:00, followed by the live show from 19:30 -23:00 which will also be broadcast across Radio 1 and 1Xtra, hosted by Asian Network’s Yasser. The show will also be live streamed on Asian Network’s website and BBC iPlayer, with highlights available on Asian Network’s YouTube channel, BBC iPlayer and Red Button.

Mark Strippel, Head of Programmes, Asian Network says: “Asian Network Live is a unique global culture-clash that brings together some of the best British and International artists of South-Asian origin, in collaboration with artists that inspire our young and growing audience. I’m particularly pleased that we have Badshah and Naughty Boy back to headline Asian Network’s flagship event, and that we’ll be joined by Radio 1 and 1Xtra for the first time.”
