BBC confirms ‘EastEnders’ to resume filming in June

The BBC has confirmed that it will resume filming of its flagship soap ‘EastEnders’ in June.

As well as ‘EastEnders’, the BBC has also confirmed that ‘Top Gear’ will go back into production by the end of June. The stars of both shows will be socially distanced and will have to do their own make-up.

BBC director of content Charlotte Moore was cited on BBC News online saying, “We’ve been looking very carefully at how we can safely put some of our shows back into production, and I’m pleased to announce that we plan to begin filming again on both EastEnders and Top Gear by the end of next month.”

She added, “We’re also exploring ways to re-start filming on more dramas and other major BBC shows as soon as possible.”

‘EastEnders’, which was reduced to twice per week, from its regular four episodes, will most probably take a short break before new episodes are aired. The initial episodes will also have references of the coronavirus.
