BBC Asian Network’s costs remain at £8m for 2019/20 period

The BBC Asian Network’s costs have remained static over the last couple of years, the BBC has announced.

As per the BBC Annual Report, which was released earlier today, the BBC Asian Network’s content cost remained £8 million for the 2019/20 period, the same as the year before. It is worth adding that the BBC Asian Network’s cost was on par of BBC Radio 1Xtra at £8 million.

Smaller digital stations BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC Radio 5 Live Extra had £3 million each of content costs during the same period.

At £88 million, BBC Radio 4 had the largest expenditure in 2019/20. BBC Radio 2 had costs of £49 million and BBC Radio 1 with £38 million.
