BBC Asian Network’s annual budget remains at £7 million

The BBC Asian Network’s spend for 2021-2022 remained at £7 million, in data published by the corporation.

The annual report, which was disclosed on Tuesday, revealed the amount spent on content across various BBC services.

Most of the services received an increased budget last year as the industry rebounded after the coronavirus pandemic.

BBC One’s budget increased from £924 million to £1,212 billion, while BBC Radio 4 had the largest spend with £85 million – up by £83 million.

The BBC Asian Network’s budget stood at £7 million, while BBC Radio 1 Xtra had a slight increment from £8 million to £9 million. BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC Radio nan Gaidheal had the least spend with £3 million and £4 million respectively.
