BBC Asian Network launch the search for new presenter voices

BBC Asian Network has announced a brand new talent search for presenters, who will host their own shows on the station from March 2021.

The talent search initiative is looking for 12 unique and exciting new voices, who live and breathe British Asian culture and have a passion for reporting on the latest in music, current affairs and the world of entertainment.

The search for new voices will focus on those whose strengths lie in presenting however, Asian Network welcomes applications from people with and without previous radio experience. The selected twelve will host four two-hour Sunday shows each (March 2021 – February 2022), engaging with listeners across the nation.

BBC Asian Network is known for nurturing new talent and giving presenters and DJs alike, the opportunity to develop and rise through the ranks into fully-fledged radio names. Initiatives such as The Asian Network Residency have played a key role for new DJs on the station, many of whom now have regular shows, including AJD (Saturdays, 16:00 – 19:00) and Manara (Saturdays, 22:00 – 01:00).

Applications are now open via the uploader on the BBC Asian Network website and will close at midnight on 24th January 2021.

We’ve created a brand new two-hour slot on Sundays to ensure that we give the best opportunities to our stars of tomorrow. The great thing about this is that you don’t even need previous radio experience!”
