BBC Asian Network add Bollywood to ‘Red Button’

The BBC Asian Network has added Bollywood elements to digital television ‘Red Button’ facility, courtesy of its ‘Love Bollywood’ show.

BBC Asian Network presenters Raj and Pablo present the best of Bollywood interviews that have graced the station this year, including interviews filmed at the International Indian Film Academy Awards and star chats from the station’s ‘In Conversation with’ strand.

Husain Husaini, Head of Programmes, BBC Asian Network, says, “Bollywood is a key part of the BBC Asian Network. This Red Button programme shows how much of a destination our network is for the biggest names in the industry. There is plenty here for Bollywood fans, as well as those wanting to learn more about the biggest Indian movie stars.”

The Bollywood duo guide viewers through the sparkle and glamour of one of the world’s largest film industries and introduce who’s who on the Bollywood red carpet. Speaking to stars at the International Indian Film Academy Awards, viewers will enjoy an up-close and personal interview with Hindi cinema’s popular couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The station’s ‘In Conversation with.’ strand, which brings listeners closer to their Bollywood icons through a series of live events filmed at BBC studios, will also feature throughout the programme. These include intimate sessions with legendary Bollywood names – Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Karan Johar, Dev Anand, Aamir Khan and many more.

Viewers can watch the extended interviews with all the featured Bollywood stars on the BBC Asian Network Website – www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork, where they can also subscribe to and download the Love Bollywood Podcast.
