BBC announces Asian Network Live event

The BBC Asian Network has announced its first ever music event, Asian Network Live.

The ticketed-event described as a “party for all”, was announced this morning on Tommy Sandhu’s Breakfast show.

BBC Asian Network Live hosted by Sandhu, will be held on Saturday 30th April at Eventim Apollo Hammersmith from 19:00.

It will feature ten artists from the UK media industry and globally. Performances on the night include ‘Amplifier’ singer, Imran Khan, Fuse ODG, Bollywood rapper Badshah and Naughty Boy. Other names include newcomer Divine and UK Asian sensations Jaz Dhami, Zack Knight, Arjun, Raxtar, Aastha Gill and Kanika Kapoor.

Tommy Sandu said, ���Asian Network Live will be a fantastic event which will showcase all that is great about the Asian music scene and its eclectic range of artists. We�۪ll have both established and up-and-coming musicians, plus three international talents making their UK performing debuts at the event.�۝

Bob Shennan, Controller of BBC Radio 2, 6 Music and Asian Network, said, ���Asian Network Live demonstrates the station�۪s unique and distinctive offering for anyone inspired by the Asian music scene. It is a celebration of the best of young British Asian and international talent, and also provides an innovative new platform for musical creativity, particularly some unique collaborations.�۝

The event will be broadcast live on BBC Asian Network, and artist performances will be available to watch at bbc.co.uk/asiannetworklive after the event. The whole show will also be available to watch on BBC Red Button on Sunday 1st May from 19:00, plus viewers can watch highlights on BBC iPlayer.

Ticket are priced �20.00 (plus booking fee) and can be purchased from BBC Asian Network’s website from Friday 11th March.
