BBC A Network adds ‘Red Button’ for UK AMAs

BBC Asian Network is pulling out all the stops for the upcoming UK Asian Music Awards by adding a ‘Red Button’ facility on digital television later this month.

As part of its deal with the UK AMAs as media partner, the BBC Asian Network’s ‘Breakfast Show’ presenter Tommy Sandhu will be presenting viewers with action from the red carpet to backstage. He will meet nominees and award-winners alongside showcase some of the performances of the evening.

The coverage will be available between 06:00 on Monday 14th March until 04:00 on Monday 21st March on the Red Button on Sky Digital, cable and Freeview.

The station will also be covering the event on Bobby Friction’s show on Wednesday (9th March), on its website – with a ‘Best Bits’ podcast and pictures being available on download on mobile phones.

BBC Asian Network and Radio 1 presenter Nihal will be fronting the awards, with performances from Outlandish, Sukhsinder Shinda, Preeya Kalidas, Jernade Miah.
