‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ to reunite Shahid Kapoor & Samir Soni
After securing the role of the principal in ‘Student Of The Year 2,’ Samir Soni is joining the cast of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu,’ albeit in a cameo role. The move reunites him with Shahid Kapoor for the first time since ‘Vivah’ (2006).
The star will play an industrialist who owns the electricity business. The film’s story revolves around a man who kills himself because of electricity issues and the buck stops at the owner, whether he is responsible or not, reports DNA India.
“I play an industrialist a la the Ambanis, and he is the key witness in the case,” shares Samir, who will start shooting for the climax today along with Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. Shahid and Yami are lawyers, while Shraddha plays the former’s love interest. “I look forward to working with Shahid after Vivah. I’m fond of him and we share an excellent rapport. I feel he still hasn’t got his due for the talent he possesses,” Samir says.
The movie releases at the end of August.
