Barun Sobti on why ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ content is a winner

For Barun Sobti, 6th October is a special day but also a bit bittersweet. The actor’s TV show ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3’ is having its last episode aired on this day, the same day on which his film ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ is releasing. The actor believes it’s ultimately content which is king.

“I really don’t agree with the whole idea of packaging that we have in the film industry. You do a good film but you have to package it with fantastic promotions. That’s a weird idea for me. What really works is when people see it and like it,” said Sobti, according to IANS.

Talking further about the film, he adds, “Usually what happens is when people want to bring across a point that’s relevant, they try and lecture the other person. I feel when people do that, they try and put themselves in a position of superiority over another person, and it puts the other person off because nobody is superior or inferior. So, this film is lightly put across… It’s a simple film about the issues we have, about the modern day citizen of India and their struggles”.

When asked whether he’ll be switching the small screen for the big screen in more instances now, he replies, “I will do whatever work that I can do well. I did ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ as the character was nice. It made my mind work and got me intrigued and I started thinking how this can be done effectively. So whatever excites me and gets my mind working, I will do that.”
