As VOOT announced a list of originals on the way, Barun Sobti spoke about the web-series ‘Asura’ which he is a part of.
“Asura is psychological thriller series. There is a lot of cat and mouse game that will keep audience hooked to the show. I am playing the role of Nikhil, a forensic expert. The series deals with subconscious and psychological development of a serial killer’s mind instead of just doing surface level stuff. In the other thriller web-series, serial killers are portrayed as menaces but I think they are the victims of the society,” said the actor, as quoted by IWMBuzz.
He went on to add, “We are yet to shoot for it. It will begin next month. I am really looking forward to it as this is the kind of stuff which really excites me in real life. I think the writing part will be the USP of the series and the twists will keep viewers on the edge of their seats”.
When asked whether TV will lose out on digital shows, Sobti replied, “To be very honest, both have two different sets of audiences. I don’t think right now but eventually may be yes, TV might take over web-series.”
Sobti is also a part of ALTBajali’s ‘Dysfunctional Family’.
