‘Barfi!’ becomes third highest grosser of the year

Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi!’ received criticism upon criticism but it became an Oscar entry. On yet another positive note, the film has slowly and steadily achieved the position of the third highest grosser of the year, overtaking even ‘Agneepath’ (2012).

The top two films that have grossed more than ‘Barfi!’ are ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Housefull 2’. The film has achieved over Rs 120 crore in India after a five-week run at the box office and proves that a film that lasts longer in the cinemas can continue to bring in the audiences.

After receiving much flak for the copied portions of the film, it seems Basu is very much having the last laugh.
