New audience measuring body, Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India will begin rolling out data at the end of this month.
At the launch event of the new system, BARC India confirmed it will release data every Wednesday, unlike TAM, which previously delivered data every Thursday.
Most broadcasters and media agencies in India have terminated their subscription with TAM to join BARC. The termination came into effect on 1st April. This will now result in two weeks of a ratings blackout until the new system releases its first lot of data.
It remains to be seen how well BARC will be received by the industry.
