Back in September, Bollywood films were banned in Pakistan amid rising tension between India and Pakistan. However, this ban will be lifted on Monday, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.

Bollywood filmmakers had refrained from casting Pakistani actors in their films and Pakistani cinema owners had banned B-town film screenings in return. These actions went on to create havoc with Indian filmmakers and their films too which starred Pakistani actors. Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (which featured Fawad Khan) faced a huge backlash and Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’ (which will see the debut of Mahira Khan) is also being challenged before it’s release in January. Khan has promised not to work with Pakistani actors again and Johar made a similar promise before the release of his film in October.

The lifting of the ban means Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ is set to release in Pakistan this week.
