With a string of successful releases already under their belt, BeingU Music has brought audiences another fantastic track by none other than Badal, the next Punjabi music sensation to watch out for. The song, Trip, has been composed, written and sung by the soon to be a star who was previously seen with stalwarts like Dr. Zeus and Grammy-nominated songwriter Rapper Raja Kumari- for Vamos, his debut single which has already crossed 10 Million views on YouTube and is still climbing up the charts.
BizAsiaLive.com caught up with Badal to talk about the single.
Trip is your debut single. Have you always wanted to release one?
I always wanted to release my single and before that, I use to do music covers on my YouTube channel to get in the eye of everyone. When I realized that people have started liking my music, I then thought this will be the right time to release my single. Also, it is every singer’s dream to launch his/her single, so was mine.
How did you zero in on what kind of song you wanted to debut with?
It actually wasn’t decided, I was working on Vamos, the song with Dr. Zeus and Raja Kumari. Initially, the song didn’t have them but when I made them hear my song they loved it and we all with Being U decided that they should be a part of this song. I am really happy and grateful that they are a part of my debut single. In terms of Trip, it was completely ready after Vamos so we dropped it out. Everyone liked the music while I was making it. Also, it’s completely out of my comfort zone that’s one of the major reason I like the song. I also wanted to experiment with my music style.
The response to Trip has been amazing. Did you ever imagine you’d achieve this much with it?
Yes, actually every time you make something new you really hope that people love it and Being U and myself are working so hard on it, we were really aiming for the best number also moreover for people to enjoy the song. I really thank each and every person who has seen and enjoyed my music.
What do you personally most love about the song?
I firstly really like the music of this song and then the lyrics of the song and then I like me singing the song (laughs). On a serious note, I really love the music of Trip.
You’ve worked with well-known names previously. Can we look forward to more collaborations?
Yeah, actually I’ll make a new song someday and show it to them and if they wish to I would love to collaborate with Dr. Zeus and Raja Kumari again. Also, I would love to collaborate with new artists too who are also willing to try something new and experiment with their music.
Is there anything you can reveal about what you’ve been working on after this single?
I am working on a lot of songs currently, mainly of different genres. I am working on sad songs, party songs but the song which is going to come after Trip may be is a Spanish and Punjabi song that I am working on. I don’t really want to talk much about it right now but I can say is the next song will have a lot of Punjabi lyrics with some Spanish too.
Who would you say is your biggest inspiration?
All kind of people inspire me, the love that I get from them, like the messages also when I meet them in person also, when your family is happy about your work, these all things about all positive people around me motivates me a lot. For now Trip is motivating me to make more songs as the love and motivation I am getting from everyone is incredible. All I always try is to make something better than whatever I have made before, so now Trip has motivated me to make something better than Trip so my fans and people who like my music would enjoy my work too.
