Baba Ramdev in preliminary talks to buy NDTV?

Yoga guru and founder of Patanjali Ayurved, Baba Ramdev is reportedly said to be in preliminary talks to buy India’s popular news broadcaster, NDTV.

Exchange4Media reports that that NDTV is “in talks with some parties to sell the channel” and Ramdev is amongst them. He is already said to have had discussions with some stakeholders regarding the acquisition.

The report adds that KVL Narayan Rao was brought in to turn around the financial fortunes of the company. However, in the fiscal year 2016-17, NDTV’s revenues dropped from Rs 396.03 crore to Rs 368.32 crore during the first three quarters.

NDTV is yet to comment on developments.
