‘Baazaar’ not inspired by ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

Nikkhil Advani’s ‘Baazaar’ will see Saif Ali Khan play a businessman. It was reported that the film is to be heavily inspired by ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ (2013), directed by Martin Scorcese. However, Advani has denied the rumours.

“I hope when you see the film you say we have matched up to that scale and achieved something brilliant. Why do we have to go to the West when everything is in the books over here,” said Advani, according to TOI.

Advani also denied that Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar were ever to star in the film. He adds, “Baazaar is about ‘dhando’, Saif is playing a Gujarati businessman. He looks very suave on the poster but he is a Gujarati businessman in the film. It is about this businessman who crosses lines left right and centre”.

The film also stars Rohan Mehra and Radhika Apte.
