Ayushmann to shoot in Pune for last schedule of Sriram Raghavan’s next

Ayushmann Khurrana, who has had a dream year with two back to back hits in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017) and ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ (2017), will be seen next in Sriram Raghavan’s yet to be titled film.

The star, who is known for his versatility and body of work, is set to start the last schedule of his next, tentatively called ‘Shoot The Piano Player,’ in Pune. The edge-of-the-seat entertainer will showcase Khurrana playing the role of a blind pianist, reports The Indian Express.

Filmmaker Raghavan is known for thrillers like ‘Badlapur’ (2015), ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ (2004) and ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ (2007). And, now he has lined up another gritty, realistic and quirky film with Khurrana. A source close to the project says, “It is going to be an intense shoot. The film is a completely different take on thrillers and Sriram’s script is amusing and edge-of-the-seat at the same time. It is going to be a rollercoaster ride for the character that Ayushmann is playing.”

Speaking about shooting in Pune, Khurrana says, “I will be in Pune from November 14 for about 16 days and I’m looking forward to the shoot and getting to know the city through the eyes of Sriram Raghavan. He is a genius in making the landscape integral to the film and the plot and enhances the effect it has on the story and characters.”

Earlier in the year, Matchbox Pictures uploaded on Facebook a still from the movie, showing Khurrana playing the piano. “Fun Begins in Pune… Sriram Raghavan, Matchbox Pictures, Viacom 18, Ajit Andhare, Sarita Patil, Sanjay Routray,” read the caption. Two years ago, it was announced that Raghavan would direct the adaptation of Vikas Swarup’s ‘The Accidental Apprentice’ for Matchbox Pictures. It is, however, not certain that ‘Shoot The Piano Player’ is the same film.
