Ayushmann Khurrana’s next ‘Bala’ falls into legal complications

The film ‘Bala’ featuring Ayusmann Khurrana has barely gone on the floors and has already landed itself in legal trouble.

According to Mid-Day, a criminal complaint has been fled against Khurrana and the makers under Section 420 (cheating) and 406 (breach of trust). The report adds that an assistant director and aspiring filmmaker Kamal Kant Chandra has logged the complaint for lifting the script from his project ‘Wig’.

Chandra claimed that the makers falsely mentioned that the movie is in scripting stage on 10th April. He told the publication, “How did they start shooting in 15 days?” He added, “I registered my concept with Screen Writers’ Association in 2016 while their script has been registered in 2018.”

Khurrana’s legal team responded by saying, “Our script is original, and we will show that to the court when the matter comes up.” Meanwhile the spokesperson of Maddock Films had said, “The court has neither granted relief to the plaintiff nor passed any order restraining us from going ahead with the movie.”

The next hearing in the case is expected on 19th June 2019.
